So I thank Mr Liese and all the others who have taken the initiative in putting forward this masterpiece of pre-emptive diplomacy, a brief resolution which, for the first time, is not a reaction to a crisis of the sort with which we are familiar in our debates on topical and urgent matters – although there is of course an acute crisis going on. Primarily, though, this is about prevention, and, moreover, prevention through action rather than through words.
C'est pourquoi je remercie notre collègue Liese et tous ceux qui ont pris cette initiative, car ils ont posé un acte majeur de diplomatie préventive. En effet, ce que renferme cette brève résolution ne constitue pas, pour la première fois, une réaction à une crise - comme c'est souvent le cas dans le cadre de nos débats sur l'urgence. Et, même si crise grave il y a, il est avant tout question de prévention ; d'une prévention par les actes plutôt que par les paroles.

– (FR) Mr President, on behalf of the Group of the Greens/European Free Alliance, I just want to thank all the members of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development. They voted unanimously for the six amendments that allow this report to go beyond the Commission’s proposal, which only sought to unfreeze land for organic farmers and primarily to remain within the context of the COM agreements.
