Commission Decision C(2015) 9500 final on the coordination of the actions of the Union and of the Member States through a coordination mechanism – the Refugee Facility for Turkey.

On 3 February 2016 they agreed on a ‘Common Understanding establishing a governance and conditionality framework for the Refugee Facility for Turkey between the EU Member States and the Commission’ (hereinafter referred to as ‘Common Understanding’).
Op 3 februari 2016 bereikten zij overeenstemming tussen de EU-lidstaten en de Commissie over het bestuur en de voorwaarden voor deze faciliteit (hierna „de consensus” genoemd).

In line with the “Common Understanding establishing a governance and conditionality framework for the Refugee Facility for Turkey between the EU Member States and the Commission” (hereinafter referred to as “Common Understanding”) agreed on 3 February 2016, the Commission acknowledges the expressed intentions of the Member States to contribute EUR 2 000 000 000 out of a total amount of EUR 3 000 000 000.
Overeenkomstig de overeenstemming tussen de EU-lidstaten en de Commissie over het bestuur en de voorwaarden voor de faciliteit (hierna „de consensus” genoemd), die op 3 februari 2016 werd bereikt, bevestigt de Commissie de voornemens van de lidstaten om 2 000 000 000 EUR van de in totaal 3 000 000 000 EUR bij te dragen.

Following through on its commitment to support Syrian refugees in Turkey, the European Commission is today mobilising additional funding for the Facility for Refugees which has so far given 500.000 children access to education and is supporting 1.2 million refugees with monthly cash transfers.
