TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

In view of exceptional circumstances consisting of a prolongation and extension of that embargo as regards the Union, as well as the unavailability of certain traditional markets, and in view of scientific advice, it is appropriate to allow fishing opportunities in respect of certain stocks that have not been used in 2015 to be carried over to 2016 up to a level of 25 %, and in respect of Northeast Atlantic mackerel, up to a level of 17,5 % of the initial 2015 quota.

Whilst a similar dispute exists with Iceland on the management of the North-East Atlantic mackerel stock, the Commission has not yet adopted measures in this respect.

Several other member states supported Ireland, France, Spain and Portugal in describing the deterioration in the North East Atlantic mackerel stock as being due to huge TACs unilaterally set by Iceland and the Faroe Islands in recent years; they would like restrictive measures to be taken in the framework of the provisions agreed between the Council and the European Parliament if negotiations with Iceland and the Faroe Islands failed again.

Furthermore, the Coastal States consultations on the management of North East Atlantic mackerel ended inconclusively in Reykjavik on 17 February 2012.

Therefore, Article 1 of Regulation (EU) No 44/2012 and the relevant TACs in Annexes IA and IB thereto should be amended in order to distribute the non-allocated quotas and to reflect the traditional allocation of mackerel in the North-East Atlantic.

Therefore, Article 1 of Regulation (EU) No 57/2011 and the relevant TACs in Annexes IA and IB thereto should be amended in order to distribute the non-allocated quota and to reflect the traditional allocation of mackerel in the North-East Atlantic.
In die context is het, met het oog op de verdeling van de niet toegewezen quota en de inachtneming van de traditionele toewijzing van makreel in het noordoostelijke deel van de Atlantische Oceaan, noodzakelijk artikel 1 van Verordening (EU) nr. 57/2011 en de betreffende TAC’s in de bijlagen IA en IB daarbij te wijzigen.

Many member states supported the concerns of the Commission about the deterioration in the North East Atlantic mackerel stock as being due to huge TACs unilaterally set by Iceland and the Faroe Islands in recent years.
Tal van lidstaten deelden de bezorgdheid van de Commissie over de verslechterde situatie van het makreelbestand in het noordoostelijk deel van de Atlantische Oceaan als gevolg van de te hoge totaal toegestane vangsten die IJsland en de Faeröer de jongste jaren unilateraal hebben vastgesteld.

The new instrument on trade measures adopted by the Council provides the possibility to tackle situations such as the one currently threatening the stock of North-East Atlantic mackerel where huge unilateral total allowable catches (TACs), generally exceeding the scientifically advised TACs, have been set by Iceland and the Faroe Islands.
Het nieuwe door de Raad vastgestelde instrument met handelsmaatregelen voorziet in de mogelijkheid op te treden tegen situaties zoals de huidige dreiging voor het makreelbestand in het noordoostelijk deel van de Atlantische Oceaan als gevolg van de door IJsland en de Faeröer unilateraal vastgestelde totaal toegestane vangsten, die over de gehele linie de wetenschappelijk geadviseerde totaal toegestane vangsten ver overschrijden.
