Notes that local and regional authorities in industrial areas should look to exploit synergies between national and EU public funding and private investment in financing energy and infrastructure projects, as a means of supporting innovation, research and development; believes that increased public and private investment in the green agenda in industrial areas can generate employment and growth through eco-innovation, environmental technologies, renewable energy and the development of the environmental goods and services market; notes that the EU needs to mobilise all the policies and instruments at its disposal at the European level, such as the internal market, environmental and climate policy, research and innovation, trade and competition policy and the development of SMEs, in order to foster the creation of high-value jobs with a view to meeting future societal challenges;
3. merkt op dat lokale en regionale overheden in industriegebieden er bij de financiering van energie- en infrastructuurprojecten naar moeten streven gebruik te maken van synergieën tussen nationale en Europese publieke middelen enerzijds en particuliere investeringen anderzijds; is van oordeel dat grotere openbare en particuliere investeringen in de groene agenda in industriegebieden de werkgelegenheid en groei kunnen bevorderen via eco-innovatie, milieutechnologieën, hernieuwbare energie en de ontwikkeling van milieugoederen en -diensten; merkt op dat de EU alle beleidsmechanismen en instrumenten die het op Europees niveau tot haar beschikking heeft, moet mobiliseren, bijvoorbeeld op het gebied van de interne markt, milieu en klimaat, onderzoek en innovatie, handel en mededinging, en daarnaast de ontwikkeling van het mkb moet stimuleren, met het doel hoogwaardige banen te scheppen om zo het hoofd te bieden aan toekomstige maatschappelijke uitdagingen;

36. Asks the Commission to pay adequate attention to the development of resource-rich areas and to include a comprehensive approach to improving transport infrastructure linking resource-rich areas of the Union to its industrial areas; calls on the Commission, therefore, to ensure that the revised guidelines on Trans-European Transport Networks (TEN-T) meet the needs of industry by providing smooth access to RM;

This development enables European industry to meet the requirements of dynamic competition and increases the competitiveness of European industry, in both civil and defence areas.
Deze ontwikkeling stelt de Europese industrie in staat om aan de eisen van dynamische concurrentie te voldoen en vergroot haar concurrentievermogen, zowel op civiel als militair gebied.

The aim of activities carried out in this area is three-fold: to integrate European aeronautics and the aeronautics industry in a modern, intermodal sustainable transport system and to consolidate the position of European industry and of European industry in the field of short distance intermodal systems and surface transport vis-à-vis increasingly strong world competition, by combining research efforts ; and to help exploit the potential of research in the European Union and the applicant countries in this sector with a view to improving safety and environmental protection.
De doelstelling van de activiteiten op dit gebied is drieledig : via de integratie van haar onderzoekinspanningen de Europese luchtvaart en luchtvaartindustrie te integreren tot een modern, intermodaal duurzaam vervoerssysteem en de positie van de Europese industrie en de Europese industrie op het gebied van intermodale "korte afstand”-systemen en verbindingen over land en water tegenover een steeds sterkere concurrentie op mondiaal niveau te consolideren door de onderzoeksinspanningen te combineren ; bijdragen aan de exploitatie van het onderzoekpotentieel in de Europese Unie en de kandidaatlanden in deze sector, ten behoeve van de verbetering van de veiligheid en de bescherming van het milieu.
