TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

25. Considers that WTO members should nevertheless intensify their efforts in other areas identified by the Doha Ministerial Declaration, such as trade in environmental goods and services, which could significantly contribute to sustainable development and the fight against climate change; calls on WTO members to take note of the APEC List of Environmental Goods; urges the EU to continue pushing for the initiation of an Environmental Technology Agreement aimed at reducing tariffs on environmental technology products and to seek clarification on the legal relationship between WTO rules and multilateral environmental agreements;

The Agreement is supplemented by three additional agreements: the Science and Technology Agreement, and the Wine and Spirits Agreements.

The international agreement on coffee, dating from 2001, and the ITA (Information Technology Agreement) adopted in 1996 at the WTO Ministerial Conference in Singapore, both led to the abolition of customs duties on a great number of products and thus a corresponding reduction in nominal GSP coverage, whilst totally opening to them the Community market; and (3) the increasing number of bilateral and regional free trade agreements.

(27) Whereas Community undertakings should benefit fully from international trade agreements such as agreements signed within the World Trade Organisation (WTO), including those relating to tariffs, such as in the Information Technology Agreement, and from the Istanbul Convention on the elimination of customs duties on personal effects and professional equipment and have effective market access under the specific terms and conditions, including national treatment, binding on the member countries of the WTO; whereas the Commission may take all necessary actions to implement international agreements; whereas these may need to be supplemented by specific bilateral or multilateral agreements and negotiations which the Commission may start on the basis of mandates from the Council;
(27) Overwegende dat de ondernemingen in de Gemeenschap ten volle baat dienen te hebben bij internationale handelsovereenkomsten, zoals de overeenkomsten die worden getekend in het kader van de Wereldhandelsorganisatie (WTO), waaronder tariefovereenkomsten zoals de overeenkomst inzake informatietechnologie, en bij de Overeenkomst van Istanbul inzake de opheffing van douanerechten over persoonlijke eigendom en professionele apparatuur, en daadwerkelijke markttoegang dienen te hebben onder de specifieke voorwaarden, met inbegrip van nationale behandeling, die voor de lidstaten van de WTO bindend zijn; dat de Commissie alle noodzakelijke maatregelen mag treffen om internationale overeenkomsten ten uitvoer te leggen; dat deze wellicht moeten worden aangevuld met specifieke bilaterale of multilaterale overeenkomsten en onderhandelingen die de Commissie mag aangaan op basis van een mandaat van de Raad;
