Op 15 juni 2016 was dit als spreker in het panel "Digital technologies' contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals", waar ik heb kunnen verwijzen naar mijn pioniersinitiatief betreffende de toepassing van de digitale know-how ten bate van ontwikkelingssamenwerkingsprogramma's. Le projet intitulé For the Balkans and the People: Nature Protection and Sustainable Rural Development en Bulgarie a remporté le prix dans la catégorie «Avantages socio-économiques» en démontrant que la conservation de la nature et le développement économique peuvent aller de pair et sont interdépendants.Cette initiative, mise en œuvre par une coalition d'ONG, a aidé des agriculteurs et des micro-entreprises et petites entreprises du massif des Balkans à commercialiser leurs produits et à promouvoir le tourisme écologique.
Het project voor de Balkan en de bevolking: natuurbescherming en duurzame plattelandsontwikkeling in Bulgarije wint de prijs voor sociaaleconomische voordelen, omdat het aantoont dat natuurbehoud en economische ontwikkeling hand in hand kunnen gaan en wederzijds afhankelijk zijn. Dit initiatief, dat werd uitgevoerd door een coalitie van ngo’s, heeft landbouwers en micro- en kleine ondernemingen uit het Balkangebergte geholpen hun producten op de markt te brengen en het ecotoerisme te bevorderen.

Une des thématiques importantes est l'adaptation de l'avant-projet de la stratégie nationale au nouveau cadre du développement durable, qui sera établi en septembre cette année: the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's).

Par ailleurs, dans le cadre d’une Recherche en appui à la politique, intitulée « Improved aid architecture and aid effectiveness », l’Institute of Development Policy and Management de l’université d’Antwerpen, a développé en 2009 et 2010, des méthodologies pour une meilleure intégration du genre dans la préparation des PICs et des Commissions mixtes, en particulier dans le secteur agricole/développement rural.

Vu l'intérêt de l'honorable membre pour ce thème, nous l'informons que la Commission européenne a publié en août 2003 une étude intitulée « The consequences of enlargement for development policy », qui couvre le sujet de façon complète.
Gelet op de belangstelling die het geachte lid toont voor deze materie, maken wij hem opmerkzaam op de studie met de titel « The consequences of enlargement for development policy » die de Europese Commissie in augustus 2003 heeft gepubliceerd en die het onderwerp in zijn geheel belicht.
