- Relations with the Court of Auditors: drawing up the joint programme, leading the inter-court inquiry into urban passenger transport, co-chairing the working group responsible for setting professional standards for financial courts.

Als verantwoordelijke gedurende vijf jaar voor de internationale betrekkingen van de nationale rekenkamer en verbindingspersoon tussen de rekenkamer en het contactcomité van hoge controle-instanties (HCI's) van de Europese Unie heb ik actief bijgedragen tot de activiteiten van de INTOSAI en de EUROSAI op het gebied van de bepaling van beroepsnormen (International standards of supreme audit institutions, ISSAI), opleiding en programma-evaluatie.
During my five years as director of international relations at the Court of Auditors and as liaison officer between the Court and the contact committee of the EU’s SAIs, I contributed to the activities of INTOSAI and EUROSAI in the areas of defining professional standards (the International standards of supreme audit institutions, or ISSAIs) and in developing and evaluating programmes.

Implementation of the Court of Auditors’ international strategy: representing the court in international professional SAI bodies (INTOSAI and EUROSAI); chairing committees and working groups (programme evaluation, EUROSAI training committee, principles of transparency and responsibility, auditing standards); ; accompanying the first President on visits to foreign counterparts and receiving delegations; relations with embassies and other foreign partners (World Bank, European Union, United Nations).

4. The Court of Auditors shall be entitled to carry out the appropriate audits in liaison with national audit bodies or with the competent national departments.

Actieve deelname aan de werkzaamheden van INTOSAI (International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions) en EUROSAI (European Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions) dient ook de verdieping van de betrekkingen met de nationale rekenkamers: hierdoor wordt effectievere samenwerking en een betere afstemming van verschillende activiteiten op het gebied van accountantscontrole en interne controle bevorderd, daarbij toegevoegde waarde toekennend aan de controle op de besteding van communautaire gelden door de Rekenkamer.
Active participation in the work of INTOSAI (International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions) and EUROSAI (European Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions) also enables relations with national courts of auditors to be strengthened. It fosters more effective cooperation and better synchronisation of the various external and internal audit procedures in the context of the use of Community funds, thereby creating added value.
