Electronic commerce is already developing dynamically in inter-business trading (so called business to business or B2B e-commerce) , with companies undertaking major restructuring of their operations in many sectors - banking, insurance, automobile manufacturing etc. This is bringing about fundamental change in the way companies operate in all sectors of the economy 'old' and 'new'.

Sees great potential for online ADR, in particular for smaller claims; notes that traditional ADR procedures exist online alongside others that seek to prevent disputes or to facilitate their resolution; emphasises that, where traditional ADR is carried out online, procedural standards should not be lowered, and that issues such as the enforceability of awards should also be resolved; sees a particular benefit in online trustmark systems; points to the work of the UNICTRAL Working Group on Online Dispute Resolution , intended for B2B and business-to-consumer (B2C) transactions;

Within the expert platform on business-to-business contractual relations in the food supply chain, the Commission has noted a commitment by the stakeholders involved in the debate to develop a common approach to the notion of fairness in business-to-business contractual relations.

Op basis van deze feitelijke analyses zal het deskundigenplatform voor contractuele business-to-business-praktijken in de voedselvoorzieningsketen zich, in een tweede fase, buigen over mogelijke maatregelen en uitvoeringsinstrumenten met het oog op eventuele aanbevelingen van het Forum op hoog niveau.
Drawing on these factual analyses, the expert platform on business-to-business contractual relations in the food supply chain is due to explore, during a second phase, possible actions and implementing tools with a view to possible recommendations by the High Level Forum.

Can the Commission provide an update on the work of the High Level Forum for a Better Functioning Food Supply Chain and the work of the Expert Platform on Business-to-Business (B2B) contractual practices in particular?

(FR) Het door de Commissie opgerichte Forum op hoog niveau voor een beter werkende voedselvoorzieningsketen heeft zich tijdens zijn eerste bijeenkomst op 16 november 2010 toegelegd op het starten van technische werkzaamheden op vier gebieden: contractuele business-to-business(B2B)-praktijken in de voedselvoorzieningsketen, het EU-instrument voor de bewaking van de voedselprijzen, het concurrentievermogen van de voedingsmiddelenindustrie en agrologistiek.
(FR) During its first meeting on 16 November 2010, the High Level Forum for a Better Functioning Food Supply Chain, established by the Commission, sought to begin technical work in four areas, namely business-to-business contractual relations in the food supply chain, the EU’s food price monitoring tool, competitiveness in the agro-food industry and agro-logistics.

Tot en met 31 december 2012 kunnen de lidstaten ten aanzien van beleggingsondernemingen waarvan de relevante indicator betreffende de business line trading- en sales ten minste 50 % uitmaakt van het totaal van de relevante indicatoren voor alle business lines, berekend overeenkomstig artikel 20 van deze richtlijn en bijlage X, deel 2, punten 1 tot en met 4, van Richtlijn 2006/48/EG, een percentage van 15 % hanteren voor de business line trading en sales.
