Zij belijden een filosofie met islamitisch-marxistische wortels – wat op zich reeds een contradictio in terminis is – en zij genoten uiteraard gedurende vele jaren de bescherming van Saddam Hoessein, de Slager van Bagdad, die zij militair steunden.
