5. benadrukt eens te meer dat een duurzame politieke oplossing, in het belang van veiligheid voor alle Burundezen, alleen mogelijk is door dialoog en consensus, waarbij de regering, de oppositie en het maatschappelijk middenveld van Burundi worden betrokken, in overeenstemming met de Overeenkomst van Arusha en de grondwet van Burundi; is verheugd over de bemiddelingspogingen van de AU, de Oost-Afrikaanse Gemeenschap (OAG) en de VN, alsmede over de recente benoeming van een Speciaal Adviseur van de VN voor Burundi; dringt er bij de mensenrechtenwaarnemers en de bemiddelaar op aan aandacht te besteden aan de situatie van vrouwen en hun deelname aan de politieke dialoog en het herstel van de rust;
5. Emphasises once again that only through dialogue and consensus, involving the Burundian Government, opposition and civil society in accordance with the Arusha Agreement and the Burundian Constitution, can a lasting political solution be found in the interests of security for all the people of Burundi; welcomes and supports, therefore, the mediation efforts being made by the AU, the East African Community (EAC) and the UN, as well as the recent appointment of a UN Special Adviser for Burundi; calls on human rights observers and the mediator to pay attention to the situation of women and their inclusion in the political dialogue and the return to calm;

2. dringt erop aan dat genderaspecten worden geïntegreerd in het beleid, programma's en maatregelen met betrekking tot mensen met een handicap om de erkenning van en inzicht in het intersectionele karakter van gender en handicap in de wetgeving en het beleid van de EU en van de lidstaten te bevorderen; is van mening dat vrouwen met een handicap moeten worden gevraagd als consultants, adviseurs, en deskundigen mee te werken in de betrokken instanties; betreurt dat in de Europese strategie inzake handicaps 2010-2020 geen geïntegreerde gendergebaseerde benadering of een apart hoofdstuk over genderspecifieke beleidsmaatregelen voor mensen met een handicap is opgenomen; betreurt tevens dat de Strategie voor gelijkheid tussen mannen en vrouwen 2010-2015 niet specifiek ingaat op de kwestie van mensen met een handicap, ondanks het feit dat vrouwen met een handicap vaak sterker worden benadeeld dan mannen met een handicap en dat zij vaker geconfronteerd worden met armoede en maatschappelijke uitsluiting;
2. Insists that disability policies should be gender mainstreamed and underlines the importance of mainstreaming gender disability in gender policies, programmes and measures to strengthen the recognition and understanding of the intersectionality of gender and disability in the EU and in the Member States' legislation and policy; considers that women with disabilities should be invited to serve on the appropriate bodies as consultants, advisers, or experts; regrets the fact that the European Disability Strategy 2010-2020 does not include an integrated gender perspective or a separate chapter on gender-specific disability policies; regrets likewise that the Strategy for Equality between women and men 2010-2015 does not specifically address the issue of disability, despite the fact that women with disabilities often find they are at a greater disadvantage than men with disabilities and are more often at risk of poverty and social exclusion;
