10. betuigt zijn instemming met het beleid van Zwitserland dat gericht is op de ontwikkeling van het spoorwegnet in de Alpen, waarbij rekening wordt gehouden met de intermodale opzet in het kader van de betrekkingen met de Europese Unie, en stelt met bezorgdheid vast dat er sprake is van achterstand bij de aanleg van het trans-Europese spoornet door de Alpen (Brenner, Turijn-Lyon) en bij het uitstippelen van eventuele nieuwe spoorlijnen in de Alpen (Aosta-Martigny), die bedoeld zijn om het drukke verkeer door de Alpen te ontlasten;
10. Welcomes the fact that Switzerland is continuing its policy of developing the rail network in the Alpine region, paying attention to intermodality in the context of relations with the European Union, and notes, with concern, the delay in the completion of the trans-European rail network through the Alps (the Brenner and Turin-Lyon) and in the planning out of possible new rail routes in the Alps (Aosta-Martigny) in order to help reduce the volume of heavy traffic in transit through the Alps;
