Within JIV-ERIC an integrated approach of guidelines and contracts for intellectual property shall be adopted regarding the rights of national research institutes dedicating infrastructure to JIV-ERIC covering technology transfer and sharing of IPR, for which the Executive Director shall propose Rules of Procedure to the Council.

1. The President of the Council is hereby authorised to deposit the instrument of accession with the Director-General of the World Intellectual Property Organisation as from the date on which the Council has adopted the measures which are necessary for the establishment of a link between the Community trade mark and the Madrid Protocol.

(8) For the above reasons, the Council, acting on a proposal from the Commission(6), approved the Madrid Protocol and authorised the President of the Council to deposit the instrument of accession with the Director-General of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) as from the date on which the Council has adopted the measures which are necessary to give effect to the accession of the European Community to the Madrid Protocol.
