I wanted to take this opportunity in my speech to remind the minister that, even if he is hiding behind statistical arguments—a lot of things can be proven with statistics—but in truth, he can cause hardship and move the CMHC away from its prime objective, which is to provide access to property, but not just any property, decent property.
Je voulais profiter de ce discours pour rappeler au ministre que même s'il se retranche derrière des arguments de statistiques—on peut prouver bien des choses avec des statistiques—, dans les faits, il peut faire du tort et détourner la Société canadienne d'hypothèques et de logement de son but premier, soit celui de favoriser l'accès à la propriété, pas de n'importe quelle propriété, de propriétés quand même convenables.
