La participation des présidents des groupes politiques du Parlement européen à la cérémonie de commémoration du 60e anniversaire de la libération d’Auschwitz - à laquelle j’ai assisté en 1999, accompagné de l’actuel ministre italien des affaires étrangères, M. Fini - prend une signification toute particulière aujourd’hui parce qu’elle incarne l’unité et la volonté des citoyens européens, non seulement, de condamner l’Holocauste, mais également de poursuivre la lutte contre l’injustice, la violence et la discrimination, toujours présentes en Europe et aux quatre coins de la planète.
