Strongly condemns the systematic and increasing harassment and intimidation carried out by State officials, in particular the Ministry of Information, against journalists, editors and media outlets that are critical of the President of the Republic or the Government of Belarus; equally condemns indiscriminate attacks against members of the opposition, human rights activists and any person who attempts freely to voice criticism of the President and the regime, as manifested through arbitrary arrests, ill-treatment of detainees, disappearances, politically motivated persecution and other acts of repression that flout the basic principles of democracy and the rule of law;

Condemns the intervention of an official from the Chinese Liaison Office, who threatened Hong Kong companies that trade with Taiwanese firms which the PRC deemed to be pro-independence; and believing that this is in breach of the Basic Law, therefore welcomes the strong criticism of the intervention expressed by both the Chief Executive and Chief Secretary of the HKSAR administration;
