6. Calls on all the political forces to show restraint and trusts there will be constructive cooperation between the executive and legislative powers in Georgia during the likely period of cohabitation; condemns the fact that the leader of Georgian Dream party, Bidzina Ivanishvili, called on President Mikheil Saakashvili to resign and to organise early presidential elections, something that constitutes a direct attack on democracy in Georgia; calls for respect for the constitution, democracy and the rule of law in Georgia;
6. invite l'ensemble des forces politiques à faire preuve de modération et se déclare convaincu que les pouvoirs législatif et exécutif géorgiens se livreront à une coopération constructive durant la période de cohabitation qui va probablement s'instaurer; condamne le fait que le chef de file de la coalition "Rêve géorgien", Bidzina Ivanichvili, ait réclamé la démission du président Mikhaïl Saakachvili et la tenue d'élections présidentielles anticipées, ce qui constitue une attaque directe contre la démocratie en Géorgie; demande que la constitution, la démocratie et l'état de droit soient respectés en Géorgie;

Notes that President Mikheil Saakashvili conceded defeat in these parliamentary elections and declared readiness to move into opposition, an extraordinary event in a country and in the region whose other post-Soviet leaders have often left office under pressure from mass protests or the threat of civil war;

Union rules on local border traffic, established by Regulation (EC) No 1931/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 December 2006 laying down rules on local border traffic at the external land borders of the Member States and amending the provisions of the Schengen Convention , in force since 2007, have avoided creating barriers to trade, to social and cultural interchange or to regional cooperation with neighbouring countries, while preserving the security of the entire Schengen area.
