So if you do these three things, if you introduce a universal child deduction, $2,000 per kid, if you make an adjustment in the child care deduction to offset that, and if you streamline the child tax benefit and the GST credit, the total bill for all of that, starting from the system that was in place before the last federal budget, would have been $3 billion.
