De Raad heeft besloten zich niet te verzetten tegen de aanneming door de Commissie van een verordening tot uitvoering van Verordening 808/2004 betreffende communautaire statistieken over de informatiemaatschappij, waarin de gegevens worden bepaald die moeten worden verstrekt ten behoeve van de opstelling van de in die verordening bedoelde statistieken en de termijnen voor hun toezending.
The Council decided not to oppose adoption by the Commission of a regulation implementing regulation 808/2004 on Community statistics on the information society, determining the data to be supplied for preparation of the statistics referred to in that regulation and the deadlines for their transmission.

(13) Bij de productie en verspreiding van communautaire statistieken in het kader van deze verordening moeten de nationale en communautaire statistische diensten rekening houden met de beginselen van de Praktijkcode Europese statistieken, die op 24 februari 2005 door het Comité statistisch programma is goedgekeurd en aan de Aanbeveling van de Commissie van 25 mei 2005 over de onafhankelijkheid, integriteit en verantwoordingsplicht van de nationale en communautaire statistische instanties is gehecht.
(13) In the production and dissemination of Community statistics under this Regulation, the national and Community statistical authorities should take account of the principles set out in the European Statistics Code of Practice, which was adopted by the Statistical Programme Committee on 24 February 2005 and appended to the Commission Recommendation of 25 May 2005 on the independence, integrity and accountability of the national and Community statistical authorities.

2. De uiterste termijn voor de indiening van de in artikel 6, lid 2, bedoelde statistieken over de handel naar bedrijfskenmerken, de in artikel 6, lid 3, bedoelde statistieken over de handel naar factuurvaluta en de in artikel 6, lid 4, bedoelde communautaire statistieken bij de Commissie (Eurostat) kan door de Commissie worden vastgesteld.
2. The deadline for transmitting to the Commission (Eurostat) statistics on trade by business characteristics referred to in Article 6(2), statistics on trade broken down by invoicing currency referred to in Article 6(3) and Community statistics referred to in Article 6(4) may be determined by the Commission.

(14) Bij de productie en de verspreiding van communautaire statistieken overeenkomstig deze verordening moeten de nationale en communautaire statistische instanties rekening houden met de principes van de Praktijkcode Europese statistieken, die op 24 februari 2005 door het comité statistisch programma is goedgekeurd, als bijlage aan de mededeling van de Commissie aan het Europees Parlement en de Raad over de onafhankelijkheid, integriteit en verantwoordingsplicht van de nationale en communautaire statistische instanties (COM(2005)0217) gehecht en is bekendgemaakt bij de aanbeveling van de Commissie daarover van 25 mei 2005.
(14) In the production and dissemination of Community statistics under this Regulation, the national and Community statistical authorities should take account of the principles set out in the European Statistics Code of Practice, which was adopted by the Statistical Programme Committee on 24 February 2005 and attached to the Commission Communication to the European Parliament and to the Council on the independence, integrity and accountability of the national and Community statistical authorities and promulgated by the Recommendation of the Commission of 25 May 2005 on the same subject (COM(2005)0217) .

De Raad neemt nota van de opmerkingen van de Rekenkamer over problemen betreffende de statistische gegevens en wijst erop dat recentelijk Verordening (EG) nr. 862/07 van het Europees Parlement en de Raad is aangenomen, betreffende communautaire statistieken over migratie en internationale bescherming en tot intrekking van Verordening (EEG) nr. 311/76 van de Raad betreffende de opstelling van statistieken over buitenlandse werknemers . Deze verordening stelt gemeenschappelijke regels vast voor de verzameling en opstelling van communautaire statistieken, onder andere op het gebied van de administratieve en gerechtelijke procedures in de lidstaten met betrekking tot asiel en andere vormen van internationale bescherming.
2. The Council notes the Court's observations on problems relating to statistical data and recalls the recent adoption of Regulation (EC) No 862/07 of the European Parliament and of the Council on Community statistics on migration and international protection and repealing Council Regulation (EEC) N° 311/76 on the compilation of statistics on foreign workers[.]1 This Regulation establishes common rules for the collection and compilation of Community statistics on, among other categories, administrative and judicial procedures and processes in the Member States relating to asylum and other forms of international protection.

(6) Bij de productie en verspreiding van communautaire statistieken ingevolge deze beschikking moeten de nationale en communautaire statistische instanties de aanbevelingen van de Commissie en de Raad van Europa om statistieken naar geslacht uit te splitsen en de beginselen van de Praktijkcode Europese statistieken naleven, die bij de Aanbeveling van de Commissie van 25 mei 2005 over de onafhankelijkheid, integriteit en verantwoordingsplicht van de nationale en communautaire statistische instanties is gevoegd.
(6) In the production and dissemination of Community statistics under this Decision, the national and Community statistical authorities should respect the Commission and Council of Europe's recommendations to disaggregate statistics by gender and the principles set out in the European Statistics Code of Practice, which was attached to the Recommendation of the Commission of 25 May 2005 on the independence, integrity and accountability of the national and Community statistical authorities.

"After having reviewed the Commission Communication on the Reduction of the Response Burden, Simplification and Priority-Setting in the Field of Community Statistics; and progress made to date, the Council stresses that while high-quality statistics are crucial for policy-making in Europe, enhanced efforts are needed to reduce the administrative burden caused by statistics in the EU.
