The Commission has decided not to raise any objection to plans to grant aid to the steel firm Acerinox S.A. and has accordingly terminated the proceedings it initiated on 28 February 1990 under Article 6(4) of Decision No 322/89/ECSC of 1 February 1989 establishing Community rules for aid to the steel industry. The aid, which takes the form of grants amounting to PTA 73 million (approx. ECU 571 000 ), is intended to help finance environmental protection measures costing a total of PTA 923 million (approx. ECU 7.15 million).
