NOMINATION OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE EUROPEAN MONETARY INSTITUTE The Council gave its opinion in favour of the recommendation from the Committee of Governors of the Central Banks to the Heads of State and Government that Baron Alexandre Lamfalussy, currently General Manager of the Bank for International Settlements, be appointed President of the European Monetary Institute.
