While I agree with the principle of this, I do want to have clarified by the department, the clerk, or somebody around this table that we have not in fact created a procedure where potentially you could have simultaneously in both Houses the regulations or the material going to two different committees that might come up with two different decisions and then there would be no appropriate mechanism to have them come back and be passed by the respective Houses, either the Senate back to the House or the House back to the Senate.
Même si je suis d'accord avec le principe même de la motion, je voudrais que les représentants du ministère, la greffière ou quelqu'un d'autre autour de cette table nous indiquent clairement que nous n'avons pas, dans les faits, créé une situation où un projet de règlement, déposé simultanément devant chaque Chambre du Parlement, serait renvoyé à deux comités distincts qui tireraient des conclusions différentes. Il n'y aurait pas de mécanisme adéquat qui nous permettrait de renvoyer le projet de règlement que ce soit du Sénat à la Chambre, ou de la Chambre au Sénat, pour qu'il soit adopté par les Chambres respectives.
