Rejects the regrettable initiative taken by Austria, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and the UK, which recently wrote to the Commission calling for a significant reduction in the Community budget in the EU's next financial perspective for the period between 2007 and 2013; recalls the warning given by the President of the Commission, Romano Prodi, to the effect that, if such action were taken, the Commission would be unable to perform its tasks in the fields of justice and home affairs, among other important policies and responsibilities;
69. condamne la regrettable initiative prise par l'Allemagne, l'Autriche, la France, les Pays-Bas, la Suède et le Royaume-Uni, qui ont adressé récemment une lettre à la Commission, dans laquelle ils exigeaient une réduction sensible du budget communautaire dans la prochaine perspective économique de l'UE, pour la période comprise entre 2007 et 2013; et rappelle la mise en garde formulée par le Président de la Commission, Romano Prodi, déclarant que si tel était le cas, la Commission ne pourrait ni faire son travail, ni faire face à ses responsabilités, dans les domaines, entre autres, de la Justice et des affaires intérieures.
