To be accused of tribalism is rather insulting. I wonder whether it was ignorance or bad faith that made the hon. member for Edmonton Southwest and his colleagues use such language and show so little understanding and respect for the position of the Bloc Quebecois on the future of the people of Quebec.
Donc, se faire traiter de tribu, c'est plutôt offensant, et on est en droit de se demander s'il s'agit là d'une question d'ignorance ou de mauvaise foi de la part et du député d'Edmonton-Sud-Ouest et de ses collègues que d'utiliser un tel langage et de ne pas faire preuve de plus de clairvoyance et de respect quant aux revendications que présente ici le Bloc québécois quant à l'avenir du peuple québécois.

Would the member consider that perhaps this is an appropriate time to continue to work within the federation to evolve a new relationship for all provinces and particularly the province of Quebec but to do so within Confederation where we will all end up being winners rather than trying to make winners and losers? [Translation] Mr. Paré: Madam Speaker, if we could erase the last 130 years and if the hon. member for Edmonton Southwest were to ask his question, we would probably say: ``Yes, he is probably right''.

[English] Mr. Ian McClelland (Edmonton Southwest, Ref.): Mr. Speaker, on debate rather than questions and comments, I would forego a moment of my time and ask the member for Saint-Jean, who was so effusive in his praise for the settlement in C-33 and C-34 I believe it was, that this legislation enables, if he would then use this as a model for a land settlement with the northern Quebec Cree on exactly the same terms, exactly the same conditions, exactly the same land base, exactly the same surface and subsurface rights and exactly the same money.
