The Member States should send information at the end of each month on the quantities of wine, wine lees and fortified wine which have been distilled in the previous month, as well as the quantities of alcohol, broken down into neutral alcohol, raw alcohol and spirits.

In accordance with that same procedure, the Commission may decide that the arrangements provided for in this Article shall also cover products falling within CN code 2208 put up in containers of more than 2 litres and presenting all the characteristics of neutral alcohol as defined in Annex I to Regulation (EEC) No 1576/89 .

Overwegende dat de kenmerken van ethylalcohol uit landbouwprodukten zijn beschreven in bijlage I bij Verordening (EEG) nr. 1576/89 en in bijlage I bij Verordening (EEG) nr. 1601/91; dat deze kenmerken identiek zijn aan de elementen waarmee neutrale alcohol is gedefinieerd in bijlage I bij Verordening (EEG) nr. 2046/89 van de Raad van 19 juni 1989 tot vaststelling van de algemene voorschriften voor de distillatie van wijn en bijprodukten van de wijnbereiding (3); dat het derhalve dienstig is de in de sector wijn toe te passen communautaire methoden voor de analyse van neutrale alcohol die zijn vastgesteld bij Verordening (EEG) nr. 1238/92 van de Commissie (4), ook voor de toepassing van de Verordeningen (EEG) nr. 1576/89 en (EEG) nr. 1601/91 als communautaire analysemethoden te erkennen;
Whereas the carcateristics of the ethyl alcohol of agricultural origin are set out in Annex I to Regulation (EEC) No 1576/89 and in Annex I to Regulation (EEC) No 1601/91; whereas these charecteristics are identical to the elements making up the definition of neutral alcohol in Annex I to Council Regulation (EEC) No 2046/89 of 19 June 1989 laying down general rules for distillation operations involving wine and the by-products of wine making (3); whereas the Community analysis methods for neutral alcohol applicable in the wine sector given in Commission Regulation (EEC) No 1238/92 (4) should also be recognized as Community analysis methods for the application of Regulations (EEC) No 1576/89 and (EEC) No 1601/91;
