But what I do know, based on the years of experience and the years of involvement, certainly through the DRIC process, the environmental assessment process and where we are today, is that this piece of legislation, the Bridge to Strengthen Trade Act, is a significant step forward that gives the type of certainty that is required to ensure the construction and the timely completion of the bridge and, by virtue of that, the economic viability of the regions along that corridor.
Ce que je sais, par contre — à la lumière de mes années d'expérience et de participation au projet du PIRD et à l'évaluation environnementale, et compte tenu de notre situation actuelle —, c'est que cette mesure législative — la Loi concernant un pont destiné à favoriser le commerce — est un pas important qui procure le genre de certitude nécessaire pour assurer la construction et l'achèvement opportuns du pont et, par le fait même, la viabilité économique des régions situées le long de ce corridor.
